CHARACTERIZATION OF POROSITY OF CERAMIC COATINGS ASSIGNED TO APPLICATIONS IN SEAWATER WITH THE EVOLUTION OF THEIR ELECTROCHEMICAL-BEHAVIOR UNDER FRICTION
The authors have characterized the quality of a Cu2O3 ceramic coating under friction in seawater by direct measures of electrochemical properties of this coating. Under friction, the structure of the ceramic layer is modified by cracking and a full impregnation of the coating by seawater is possible. In this condition, the electrochemical behaviour of the system is that of the substrate or that of the sub-layer, used to improve the adhesion of the ceramic coating.
