摘要
An improved method is described by which it is possible to calculate from literature data values of the free energy change for ATP synthesis (the 'phosphate potential', DELTA-G(p)) and the associated change in standard free energy (DELTA-G'0) at different temperatures in the range 0-60-degrees-C. Dependence of these values on ionic strength, pH and magnesium concentration is accounted for. Some errors in widely used values are discussed. Examples of calculated data at 25, 37 and 50-degrees-C are given. The limitations of the method are briefly discussed.
