摘要
Studies have been made on electrical oscillations across a liquid membrane consisting of an oil layer, nitrobenzene, which lays between two aqueous layers, one of which contains a soap, sodium oleate or sodium stearate. The features of the oscillation, i. e. , amplitude, frequency, frequency modulation, and shape of the pulses, change in a characteristic manner with the addition of various chemical species belonging to different taste categories. The change of the oscillatory pattern could be reproduced by a theoretical calculation based on a set of nonlinear kinetic equations.
