COATING OF CALCIUM-PHOSPHATE ON ALUMINA CERAMICS BY ELECTROPHORETIC DEPOSITION

摘要
The films of hydroxyapatite-calcium phosphate were coated on alumina ceramic substrates by electrophoretic deposition technique. Homogeneous films were obtained by using a mixed solution of ethanol and 2,4-pentanedione (acetylacetone). The calcium phosphate compound with low melting point played a role of binder between HAp and alumina substrate. The apatite phase of coated layers was decomposed to alpha- and beta-tricalcium phosphate, on sintering at 1300 degrees C.
