摘要
The austenite-transition metal carbide equilibrium has been calculated in Fe-Ti-C and Fe-Nb-C systems using the Wagner formalism for dilute ternary solutions and an extended regular solution model similar to the Hillert-Staffansson model for austenite and nonstoichiometric carbide phases respectively. Effects due to solute interactions and nonstoichiometry on (a) solubility of the carbide (b) equilibrium austenite composition and (c) mole fraction of carbide phase have been investigated in the above two systems. The calculated solubility curves agree well with the experimental results. The calculated minimum in the solubility curve agrees with the most recent result available for the Fe-Nb-C system.
