摘要
This paper investigates the power frequency, highly inhomogeneous field properties of a dielectric for which the conductivity is an exponential function of the electric field. Oil-paper constitutes the best known example of such a system. Based on solutions to poisson's equation with field-dependent conductivity and time-dependent voltage, the paper concludes that such a dielectric could be defect-tolerant (electrically and thermally stable in spite of a defect) for reasonable defects geometries.
