摘要
A pilot study on the use of Ultra violet/ozone as a pretreatment for polymers has been carried out. The treatment was successful in introducing oxygen functionality and increasing the wettability of polyethylene, polyetheretherketone and poly(vinyl fluoride), as observed with X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) and water contact angles respectively. Treatment was carried out under ambient conditions and has the potential to be a continuous process that may be commercially exploitable.
