摘要
By means of aktograph apparatus, immature specimens of A. avicularia have been shown to be crepuscular, with a weak bimodal rhythm of locomotory activity. The peak at the subjective dusk is more pronounced than the one at the subjective dawn. These spiders are "sit wait" predators and their activity is limited. They are less active, and have a weaker circadian rhythm than desert-dwelling tarantulas. This supports the hypothesis that large desert-inhabiting arthropods are generally both more active and show more marked rhythmicity than tropical forest species.
