RAMAN-SCATTERING AND PHASE-TRANSITIONS IN TITANYL-ORTHOPHOSPHATES - A COMPARATIVE-STUDY

Phase transitions in KTiOPO4 (KTP), RbTi0PO4 (RTP) and TITiOPO4 (TTP) arc studied as function of temperature and pressure using Raman spectroscopy. In KTP and RTP low frequency lines corresponding to the previously reported soft mode in TTP are observed but their softening does not extrapolate to zero at Tc, in contrast with the case of TTP. A study of the pressure variation of the spectra in TTP and KTP provides comparative informations about their phase transitions in the 0–16 GPa interval. © 1991, Taylor & Francis Group, LLC.
