摘要
The oxidation of manganese(II) in a benzoylacetonate and a dibenzoylmethanate complex in water-saturated organic solvents by dissolved atmospheric oxygen was measured. The rate of oxidation in carbon tetrachloride and toluene was higher: dibenzoylmethane < acetylacetone < benzoylacetone. When the ligand was the same, it was higher in toluene than in carbon tetrachloride, but was very low in 4-methyl-2-pentanone. Such an oxidation also occurred in the organic phase of solvent extraction systems with these β-diketones. For this reason the extraction was enhanced very much when the two phases were agitated for a long time. © 1990, The Japan Society for Analytical Chemistry. All rights reserved.
