CONDITIONS FOR BISTABLE HYSTERESIS OF CONDUCTION ELECTRON-SPIN-RESONANCE IN SOLIDS

摘要
A conduction electron is the simplest microscopic object which can exhibit bistability upon interaction with a magnetic field. We recently observed bistable hysteresis in the spin resonance of conduction electrons of semiconducting gallium oxide. This work describes the optimal conditions for the production of this effect in conducting materials at high temperatures. It is shown in particular that a low dimensional electron gas, and a conduction band predominantly made of s-orbitals of elements such as indium or gallium for example, are probably the most suitable structural and chemical criteria for bistable conduction electron spin resonance.
