THE ATOMIC AND MOLECULAR DATABASE AT BELFAST AND DARESBURY

Numerical data on atomic and molecular physics is being collected and stored in a database developed jointly by the School of Physics and Mathematical Sciences at the Queen's University Belfast and by the UK Science and Engineering Research Council, Daresbury Laboratory. The work is also supported by the UK Atomic Energy Authority. There are two main parts to the database. The first part stores theoretical data produced by computer programs which are too bulky for publication. The second part is concerned with the storage and assessment of published data in atomic and molecular physics and the generation of recommended data for the use of fusion physicists and astrophysicists. In this paper the structure of the latter part of the database is described, and an example is given of user interaction with the system.
