摘要
The present investigation covers the static and dynamic mechanical behavior of ferritic stainless steel-Al//2O//3 sintered particulate composites with ternary additions. In order to determine the effect of reactive metal and phosphorus on the sinterability of ferritic stainless steel-Al//2O//3 composites, 0. 5 wt. % Nb or 0. 5 wt. % Ti (as Ti-6Al-4V) or phosphorus compounds in the form of Fe//3P or Fe//2P master alloys) were selected. The results show that the yield and tensile strengths are high for Al//2O//3-containing composites compared with the corresponding values in straight ferritic stainless steel. The addition of a transition metal niobium) enhanced the room temperature and elevated temperature mechanical behavior to a greater extent than does the addition of titanium alloy. When phosphorus was added, the room temperature mechanical properties of ferritic stainless steel were better than those of the straight composite.
