摘要：

Special type of evaporative cooler was designed and tested. The cooler consisted of galvanised zinc sheet in a rectangular shape. Charcoal granules ware used as an outer wetted layer which produce cooling effect by evaporation. Several tests were done upon the cooler in order to study its performance under different conditions. Using this cooler the ambient temperature was reduced by 10-13 degrees C. Such evaporative cooler will be an effective mean in maintaining some of the vegetables and the contained food in a temperature considerably below the ambient temperature.
