NEWEDGE - A 2D FULLY IMPLICIT EDGE PLASMA FLUID CODE FOR ADVANCED PHYSICS AND COMPLEX GEOMETRIES

摘要
The solution algorithm of the 2D fully implicit edge plasma fluid code NEWEDGE has been significantly advanced. An efficient numerical Jacobian evaluation has been implemented, and an advanced iterative matrix algorithm has replaced the previously used banded Gaussian elimination. These advancements allow a memory and CPU efficient, robust solution on a fine grid for a single null, multiply connected geometry. The algorithm advancements are discussed and a model problem is used to demonstrate the code's performance.
