SENSING PROPERTIES OF LNMO3/SNO2 (LN = RARE-EARTH, M = CR, CO, MN, FE) HAVING A HETEROJUNCTION

摘要
The I-V characteristics and sensing properties are investigated for an LnMO3/SnO2 (Ln = rare earth, M = transition metal) element prepared by mechanically contacting two sintered pellets. For LnCrO3/SnO2 and LnCoO3/SnO2 definitive non-ohmic curves are obtained. The rectification effect becomes weak on going from LnCrO3/SnO2 to LnFeO3/SnO2. This could be due to the formation of a p-n junction between LnCrO3 or LnCoO3 and SnO2. For the elements in which part of the Sm3+ ions in SmMnO3 and SmCoO3 were replaced by Sr2+ ions, the non-ohmic behaviour is more clearly developed than that for the parent perovskite oxide. I-V curves of these elements become ohmic when reducing agents are introduced into the stream of dry air.
