INFRARED PUMP-PROBE SPECTROSCOPY OF WATER AT SUBPICOSECOND TIME SCALES - A THEORY

摘要
A theory is presented to describe pump-probe infrared spectra of water at subpicosecond time scales, comparable to those characteristic of spectral diffusion. This theory is a statistical theory using a correlation function description of the nonlinear optical processes involved. It predicts real time shifts of spectral bands, preceded by a redistribution of their intensities. Physical interpretation of these findings is proposed.
