摘要
Various plant sterols have been tested for their ability to order soybean phosphatidylcholine bilayers as monitored by H-2-NMR spectroscopy. Sitosterol and 24xi-methylpollinastanol, a 9beta,19-cyclopropylsterol, appear to be the most effective sterols. The presence of either a trans-oriented double bond at C-22 in the C-24 alkylated sterol side chain or a DELTA8(9) in the tetracyclic ring system is shown to reduce significantly the ordering efficiency of the sterol molecule.
