Various amounts of vanadium pentoside (V2O5) were introduced to the NiCuZn ferrite to reduce the sintering temperature. The V+5 cations entered the crystal lattice of the ferrite and improved the initial permeability and quality factor. 0.5 mol% of V2O5 was required to form the liquid phase for enhancing the densification of this composition at 875 degrees C. However, the grain boundary phase deteriorated the magnetic properties of the material.
