摘要
Ulminites (telocollinites) from Styrian coal-bearing formations (southeastern Austria) ranking from diluvial lignites up to subbituminous coal of Carpathian age were investigated. Characterization by means of infrared spectroscopy, pyrolysis-gas-chromatography and reflectance measurements was done. A statistical analysis showed a strong correlation between the mean reflectance of ulminite and certain products of pyrolysis, i. e. the ratio of the amounts of toluene and benzene. On the other hand, no correlations could be established between the data obtained from infrared spectroscopy of the undecomposed samples and the data from the other experimental methods.
