摘要
Electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR), refractive index, Raman spectroscopy and density measurements were used to investigate the xGd(2)O(3) .(1 - x)Na2O . 2B(2)O(3) glass system with x less than or equal to 0.10. EPR data proved the formation of Gd-O-Gd dimers with increasing gadolinium oxide content. The line width of the EPR absorption peak at g approximate to 6 and the refractive index of the xGd(2)O(3) .(1 - x)Na2O . 2B(2)O(3) glass system present a similar behaviour as a function of the gadolinium oxide content. This behaviour was explained considering the process of Gd-O-Gd dimer formation.
