摘要
The photophysics of acetone and other ketones, studied under collision-free conditions is reviewed. Results obtained upon direct excitation of the molecules are compared with those obtained in the chemiluminescent dissociation of dioxetanes. Intersystem crossing is found to be a predominant process in both bulk systems and in supersonic jet expansions. The dissociation energy of the CC bond in acetone on the triplet surface is found to be similar to that of the CH bond in formaldehyde (about 14 kcal/mole). This trend appears to carry over to other carbonyl compounds. © 1990.
