摘要
The effects of hydration on NaX and MgX zeolites are compared by studying their infrared spectra in the region of the frame vibrational modes. Evidence is found that water promotes the transfer of Mg2+ cations from sites I, inside the prismatic units, to sites I', in the sodalites. These conclusions are supported by the spectra in the far-IR region, where Mg2+-frame stretching vibrations can be observed.
