摘要
Turbostratic alpha-nickel hydroxide has been obtained with an almost quantitative yield from NiSO4 solution. The chemical analyses and the infrared study show that a lot of SO4(2-) anions are adsorbed and intercalated between Ni(OH)2 slabs. The large value of the intersheet distance and the infrared study show that the greater part of the intercalated SO4(2-) anions are free in the Van der Waals space. During thermal treatment, the H2O loss is associated with a linking Of SO4(2-) anions with Ni2+ cations, as shown by the splitting of the nu-3(SO)4(2-) band in the infrared spectrum.
