CONFERMENT OF CHOLESTEROL SENSITIVITY ON POLYPYRROLE FILMS BY IMMOBILIZATION OF CHOLESTEROL OXIDASE AND FERROCENECARBOXYLATE IONS

摘要
Cholesterol oxidase and ferrocenecarboxylate ions were incorporated in polypyrrole films by electro-polymerization of pyrrole in an aqueous solution containing these substances. The resulting polymer films exhibited a remarkable amperometric response to cholesterol. The current response was correlated with the apparent enzymatic activity of polypyrrole films and was influenced by the film thickness. When cholesterol esterase was simultaneously immobilized in polypyrrole films, the sensitivity to cholesterol ester was conferred on polypyrrole films having the cholesterol sensitivity.
