CHIRAL RECOGNITION AND ENANTIOMERIC SEPARATION OF ALANINE BETA-NAPHTHYLAMIDE BY CYCLODEXTRINS

摘要
The host-guest interaction of chemically unmodified and modified (methylated and acetylated) cyclodextrins (CDs) with alanine beta naphthylamide was studied by H-1 NMR spectrometry. The inclusion complex formation of the guest with CDs, except for alpha-CD, was evaluated on the basis of remarkable changes in their chemical shifts. The chiral recognition of DL-alanine beta-naphthylamide by CDs was confirmed from duplication of its proton resonances. The enantiomeric separation ability of CDs was also investigated by capillary zone electrophoresis. Diacetylated beta-CD and unmodified beta- and gamma-CDs exhibited high enantioselectivities. Moreover, the chemical modification produced a reverse in the migration order of the enantiomers.
