摘要：

This is an overview of the results of recent research (indexed in Medline after 1992) on the personality disorders. It is meant to alert readers to the issues, findings, and methodological limitations of investigations in this area. We grouped related themes together in order to facilitate recognition of trends and of promising avenues for future research. These themes include the relationships of personality disorders to other disorders and to society, therapies of personality disorders, and advances in biological science.
