摘要
The electrochemical behaviour of poly(2-chloroaniline) was studied by cyclic voltammetry and a.c. impedance as a function of the concentration of H2SO4 solutions. In concentrated solutions polymer oxidation occurs as a two-stage process, thus showing the existence of an 'emeraldine' form not detected in less-than-or-equal-to 2 M H2SO4 solutions. Both polyaniline and poly(2-chloroaniline) can mediate the oxidation of SO2, the performance of the latter polymer being more stable with time. Mediated oxidation of SO2 occurs within poly(2-chloroaniline) film under kinetic control, so that current is proportional to film thickness.
