摘要
In the present work, a new transformation has been employed to allow investigation of entire mixed convection regime from pure free convection to pure forced one. Similarity ocurred when magnetic field strength varies as the -2/5 power of vertical distance from the source. Temperature and velocity distributions in the boundary layer adjacent to the adiabatic surface have been presented. It is shown that: plume's velocity overshoot, wall shear stress, temperature and plume width increase as the mixed convection parameter xi-decreases. Also, numerical results have indicated that, the wall shear stress values are higher in case of mixed convection flow (0 < xi < 1) than that would be in either of the pure buoyant and pure forced flows. On the other hand, as the magnetic parameter increases the plume velocity increases, but the temperature and plume width decrease.
