摘要
The electrocatalytic oxidation of 1,2-propanediol has been investigated in acid medium both on bare Pt electrodes, and on adatom modified Pt electrodes. Relatively small enhancement catalytic effects are found with Cd, Pb and Re adatoms, whereas strong inhibiting effects are observed with Bi and Tl adatoms. An interpretation of the different behavior of these adatoms is proposed on the basis of their potential range of redissolution, compared to the potential range of 1,2-propanediol electrooxidation.
