Mechanical and superconducting properties of a Bi2Sr2Ca2Cu3Ox(BSCCO)-Ag composite were optimized by mixing 10 vol.% nanometer sized silver crystals with nanometer sized BSCCO crystals. The interface structures of hot-pressed pellets were examined by high-resolution electron microscope and the deformability measured by compressing the pellets at 673-1034 K. It is observed that the silver/superconductor interface is direct without any interface layer.
