LEWIS ACID SITES IN TITANIUM SILICALITE

摘要
Acid properties of titanium silicalite (TS-2) am investigated by means of IR and XPS of chemisorbed pyridine. The results indicate the presence of a weak Lewis acid site, the concentration of which grows as the content in tetrahedral titanium increases. Upon adsorption of pyridine the intensity of the 960 cm-1 IR band diminishes. This is viewed as an additional evidence that the Lewis acid site is the Ti cation involved in the zeolite structure. IR spectra of chemisorbed pyrrole confirm the presence of acid sites and yield no indication of basic sites being present.
