Excitation spectra of the CdKr excimer were produced in a molecular beam employing free-jet supersonic expansion, crossed with a pulsed dye-laser beam. Bands arising from B1 <-- X0+ and A0+ <-- X0+ vibronic transitions were analyzed, yielding spectroscopic constants for the three states. Computer simulations of the bands yielded relative values of r(e), the equilibrium internuclear separations. Potential-energy curves constructed on the basis of the data and of the Morse potential provided a useful comparison with theoretically calculated curves.
