摘要
The electrodeposition of nickel onto vitreous carbon from acidic 90% C//2H//5OH/10% H//2O containing low Ni**2** plus concentrations is discussed. These unusual conditions have been selected to facilitate the design of cathode surfaces which are active and reproducible for organic electrosynthesis. The objective is to deposit the catalyst in situ from the catholyte, hence producing it in its equilibrium state for the electrolysis conditions and also continuously renewing the surface.
