POTENTIODYNAMIC INVESTIGATION OF COPPER IN LICL SOLUTIONS

摘要
The dissolution of copper was investigated in an aqueous solution of pH 4 having up to 6M LiCl at temperatures ranging from 22 to 64 C. Anodic dissolution is characterized by two waves of oxidation on E-i curves obtained by the linear potential sweep method. The peak potentials are anodic with respect to the reversible potential E//C//u/// C//u//C//l. The formation of CuCl on the electrode begins at potential values a few mV anodic with respect to E//C//u/////C//u//C//l. Limitation of the dissolution current is attributed to the diffusion of Cl** minus ions from the bulk electrolyte to the electrode surface and to the presence of the CuCl film on the electrode.
