CHARMONIUM DECAYS INTO THE OMEGA-PHI FINAL-STATE

We calculate the decay widths of various C-even charmonium levels (1S0, 3P0, 3P1, 3P2) to the ωφ final state. We show that this doubly OZI suppressed decay mode is not actually much smaller as compared to the ordinary ρ{variant}ρ{variant}-mode. The branching ratios obtained are Br(χ0→ωφ) = 1.0 × 10-3, Br(ηc→ωφ) = 0.4 × 10-3, Br(χ2→ωφ) = 0.5 × 10-4. In connection with these decay modes, we discuss the deviations from the quark model U(3) symmetry, the role of higher twists and that of power corrections in the charmonium region Q2 ≅ 10 GeV2. © 1991.
