CLUES TO EARLY SOLAR-SYSTEM HISTORY FROM CHROMIUM ISOTOPES IN CARBONACEOUS CHONDRITES

摘要
The major mineral phases contained in individual carbonaceous chondrite meteorites exhibit both positive and negative anomalies in their Cr-54 abundances. No significant chromium-bearing phase has a terrestrial (solar) chromium isotopic composition. These observations provide evidence that the chromium isotopic composition of the Solar System results from the mixing of several major components with distinct isotopic compositions. The formation of the solar nebula from material carrying different isotopic signatures may provide constraints on nucleosynthetic models.
