摘要
The liquid surfactant membrane technique is an interesting alternative to solvent extraction at low metal concentrations. In single-state stirred cell extraction, a hundred-fold enrichment of copper is possible. The technique appears to be especially suitable for processing Zn leachings and cementates; the extractant LIX 51 has a high selectivity for Zn in the presence of Co and Ni. The Kuehni extractor, operating in a continuous counter-current process, is suited for application of the technique.
