SPECIFIC FEATURES OF THE METHOD OF LASER DIFFRACTION SPECTROMETRY IN THE CONDITIONS OF ANOMALOUS DIFFRACTION

We consider the problem of using the method of laser diffraction spectrometry when the phenomenon of anomalous diffraction dominates the scattering. This problem is associated with additional parameters in the light scattering data inversion problem, namely, optical constants of the particles being analysed. A method is proposed for estimating the information content of optical measurements where the complex refractive indices of the particle can act both as free parameters during the course of solving the inverse problem and as a priori estimates with a given accuracy. As applied to the base potential of commercial granulometers, the causes of changes in the information content of optical measurements under conditions of anomalous diffraction have been revealed and analysed. The necessary requirements on quality of a priori estimates of optical constants have been formulated in solving the inverse problem.
