摘要：

An earlier paper reported on the results of a study of the depolarization of white light passing through a birefringent crystal that occurs because of unequal phase retardation suffered by the different wavelengths traversing the crystal. Those results are extended to include the Lyot depolarizer. The present results are compared with earlier theoretical and experimental work of B. H. Billings.
