摘要：

It is reported on the isolation and cultivation of a new magnetotactic spirillum, designated as strain MSR-1. The cells are microaerophilic bipolar monotrich flagelled and contain up to 40 magnetosomes. A more detailed taxonomic characterization of this strain will be prepared.
