THERMAL CONDUCTIVITY OF GASEOUS AIR AT MODERATE AND HIGH PRESSURES

Values of the thermal conductivity of air have been established for temperatures to 800° K. and pressures to 1000 atm. Reported thermal conductivity values for air at atmospheric pressure were related to temperature. Thermal conductivity values for nitrogen were used to establish a relationship between the reduced residual thermal conductivity, (k – k*)?, and reduced density. This relationship enabled thermal conductivity values to be established for gaseous air for a complete range of temperatures and pressures. The values from this study were compared with those resulting from a recent Russian investigation. © 1968, American Chemical Society. All rights reserved.
