摘要
From spectral indices, at two median frequencies, of 297 radio sources identified as quasars by Veron-Cetty and Veron ( 1983) located south of declination -9.degrees 5, a search for gigahertz peaked spectrum (GPS) sources has been made. By using spectral indices computed from frequencies in the ranges 408-1410 MHz and 2700-5009 MHz, 16 objects with density nux peaked near 1 GHz were identified. The sample is intended to provide candidates for the less common type of radio source which might differ in several radio properties from normal compact radio sources, whose radio spectra appear broadly to be flat or steep. Thirteen new GPS candidates are listed.
