摘要
The free energy of scalar, fermionic, and gauge fields confined to spherical regions is calculated. Ultraviolet divergences are isolated through an analytical regularization, and finite-temperature-dependent contributions are studied by means of numerical calculations. Divergences are temperature independent, allowing the renormalization of the model at T = 0. We also apply our results to study a simple model of hadronic plasma droplet.
