THE MICROWAVE-SPECTRUM OF SO IN THE B(1)SIGMA(+) ELECTRONIC-STATE

摘要
The pure rotational spectrum of the SO radical in the b1SIGMA+ metastable electronic state was observed by microwave spectroscopy in a dc-glow discharge plasma of a gaseous mixture of H2S, O2, and He. Intensities of the b1SIGMA+ state lines were about 1/3 of those of the a 1DELTA state lines. The spectral lines with vibrational quantum numbers, v, up to 8 were observed, indicating that the SO radical is highly excited in vibration. The spectral lines of (SO)-S-34 were also observed for v=0 and 1 in natural abundance. Precise Dunham coefficients were determined from the observed frequencies.
