SIGMA-MESON AND RHO-MESON STRENGTH DISTRIBUTIONS FROM IN-MEDIUM CORRECTED PI-PI CORRELATIONS

摘要
The experimental phase shifts of pi-pi scattering in the J = I = O (sigma-meson) and J = I = 1 (rho-meson) channels are reproduced using phenomenological T-matrices. In a nuclear medium the pion dispersion relation is strongly changed and so is the interacting 2-pi propagator. Corresponding sigma- and rho-meson strength distributions are extracted and shown to accumulate considerable strength around the 2-pi threshold. For the rho-meson this may be related to recent experimental results from dilepton production.
