摘要
Multi-valued characteristics such as hysteresis loops need to be curve-fitted by parts. Mathematical functions may be found to successfully describe symmetrical loops and magnetization curves in regions with high levels of saturation. Asymmetrical loops of variable degrees of saturation and with additional features of nonlinearity may be obtained in practice. In piecewise curve-fitting no assumption of idealization concerning the form of magnetization curves is made. An unnecessary constraint on the fitting functions used in the past is revealed when using a preliminary function with extra degrees of freedom. The evidence of this can be verified experimentally.
