摘要：

The availability of 3D CAD models and polymeric fluids that harden under the influence of lighting by a laser beam has opened a new area of manufacturing technology. During the last three years a remarkable progress was made, especially by industrial application of the stereolithography principle. Independent of this progress there are some problems to be solved before this new technology is in common use. The present paper gives a short overview of the new possibilities as well as some current restrictions.
