摘要
Optical networks promise the very high capacities needed to keep pace with an ever increasing demand. This paper discusses the major issues that affect the design of a practical, high capacity optical broadcast network for use in a television studio. The emphasis is on the development of an installable rather than an experimental system. The constraints imposed by practical components are discussed and a number of novel multiple star architectures are presented.
