摘要
Recent progress in understanding the reactivity of amorphous alloys in aqueous environments is summarized. Emphasis is placed on the experimental evidence concerning the ability to passivate, the stability of the passive state of these alloys-including the susceptibility to pitting-as well as on details of the characteristic features and peculiarities of the systems. The stationary behavior, based on recent models for homogeneous alloys. is discussed. As the accelerated electrochemical tests may sometimes be misleading for the metastable alloys, the necessity of long-term investigations is pointed out.
